Top 5 Health Tips For The Season

Winter is here, although not yet in full swing - February is my biggest nemesis. With frigid temperatures on their way, make sure your body is warmed up and prepared for all that may come.

1) Stay hydrated - it's easy to forget when you're not cookin' under the Summer heat. Make it habitual!

2) Get your sunshine - whether it's through time spent outdoors or taking Vitamin D supplements, this can make a world of difference. Your primary care physician can fill you in.

3) Rest well - losing on one night's sleep may not be the worst thing in the world, but consecutively the deficit can build. Stay on top of your sleep hygiene.

4) Exercise - recent guidelines released advocate for a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity aerobic exercise a week. Add in another two days per week for resistance training, and you're already feeling better.

5) Mental health matters - whether you meditate, practice yoga, read a book, enjoy friends...whatever! Find something that centers you amidst the storm that is life.
